Understand what the VA looks for at each rating level — loading conditions…
Damage to the network of nerves (brachial plexus) that sends signals from the spine to the shoulder, arm, and hand. This can result from trauma, traction injuries, or compression during military service. The VA rates brachial plexus injuries based on which part of the plexus is damaged and how much function is lost.
The VA rates this condition based on how much it affects your ability to work and carry out daily activities. The examiner will focus on the functional limitations your condition causes, not just the diagnosis itself.
