Severe, recurring headache attacks that occur in clusters or cycles. They cause intense burning or piercing pain on one side of the head, often around the eye. The VA rates cluster headaches using the same criteria as migraines, based on how often attacks happen and how much they affect your ability to work.
The VA rates this condition based on how often symptoms occur and how severe each episode is. The examiner will ask about the frequency, duration, and intensity of your episodes, as well as how they affect your ability to work.
