A narrowing of the airway at the level of the voice box (larynx) and windpipe (trachea), often caused by prolonged intubation, trauma, or prior surgery. This makes it harder to breathe and can affect your voice. The VA rates laryngotracheal stenosis based on lung function tests.
The VA rates this condition based on objective clinical measurements and test results. The examiner will use standardized tests or lab values to determine the severity of your condition rather than relying primarily on subjective symptom reports.
