Understand what the VA looks for at each rating level — loading conditions…
A condition where the smallest airways in the lungs (bronchioles) become scarred and narrowed, restricting airflow. Strongly associated with burn pit and toxic exposure during deployment. Often requires surgical lung biopsy for definitive diagnosis because standard PFTs may appear deceptively normal. The VA rates constrictive bronchiolitis based on lung function tests.
The VA rates this condition based on objective clinical measurements and test results. The examiner will use standardized tests or lab values to determine the severity of your condition rather than relying primarily on subjective symptom reports.
