Understand what the VA looks for at each rating level — loading conditions…
A condition where urine flows backward from the bladder into the ureters and potentially into the kidneys. This abnormal flow increases the risk of kidney infections and kidney damage. The VA rates vesicoureteral reflux based on urinary frequency, infection recurrence, and whether kidney function is impaired.
The VA rates this condition based on how often symptoms occur and how severe each episode is. The examiner will ask about the frequency, duration, and intensity of your episodes, as well as how they affect your ability to work.
