Knee Limitation of Flexion — C&P Exam Preparation

Knee and Lower Leg DBQ~30 minutes

Limited ability to bend the knee. The VA rates this based on how far you can flex (bend) your knee, measured in degrees. Normal flexion is 140 degrees.

The examiner will measure how far you can bend your knee using a goniometer. Normal flexion is 140 degrees.
You will be asked to bend and straighten your knee several times to check for pain, weakness, and fatigue on repeated use.
The examiner will test your knee for instability by pushing and pulling on the joint (ligament tests).
You may be asked to walk so the examiner can observe your gait.
You will be asked about flare-ups and how they affect your ability to walk, climb stairs, and stand.
