Understand what the VA looks for at each rating level — loading conditions…
Pain on the outside of the elbow caused by overuse of the forearm muscles and tendons. It is commonly called tennis elbow but often results from repetitive gripping, lifting, or tool use. The VA rates lateral epicondylitis by analogy to tenosynovitis, based on painful motion, X-ray findings, and functional limitation.
The VA rates this condition based on how much it affects your ability to work and carry out daily activities. The examiner will focus on the functional limitations your condition causes, not just the diagnosis itself.
