Complete fusion (ankylosis) of multiple fingers on the same hand, where two or more fingers are permanently fixed with no remaining motion. This severely impairs hand function and grip strength. The VA rates multiple finger ankylosis based on which fingers are affected, how many are involved, and whether it is the dominant or non-dominant hand.
The VA rates this condition based on objective clinical measurements and test results. The examiner will use standardized tests or lab values to determine the severity of your condition rather than relying primarily on subjective symptom reports.
