Understand what the VA looks for at each rating level — loading conditions…
A bladder that does not work properly because of nerve damage. This condition is often caused by spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, or multiple sclerosis. The VA rates neurogenic bladder under voiding dysfunction criteria based on how often you need to change absorbent materials or use an appliance.
The VA rates this condition based on how much it affects your ability to work and carry out daily activities. The examiner will focus on the functional limitations your condition causes, not just the diagnosis itself.
