Repeated dislocation of the humerus (upper arm bone) at the shoulder joint, often following an initial traumatic dislocation during service. The VA rates recurrent shoulder dislocation based on the frequency of episodes and whether the episodes involve guarding of all arm movements.
The VA rates this condition based on how often symptoms occur and how severe each episode is. The examiner will ask about the frequency, duration, and intensity of your episodes, as well as how they affect your ability to work.
