Inability to achieve or maintain an erection. The VA typically rates ED at 0% but grants Special Monthly Compensation (SMC-K) for loss of use of a creative organ, which adds approximately $131/month.

The examiner will ask about your symptoms: inability to achieve or maintain an erection, reduced libido.
You will be asked when symptoms started and what you think caused them (medication, condition, injury).
The examiner may ask about treatment: medications (Viagra, Cialis), devices, or other treatments.
This is a brief, interview-based exam. There is no physical examination of the genitals in most cases.
The examiner will document loss of erectile power for Special Monthly Compensation (SMC-K) eligibility.
